Art Show at a Mental Hospital

This is a wonderful video that shows the benefit of art therapy for the mentally ill.  These are truly artists, they paint and draw because they can and because it helps them to understand the world around them.  Why have we cut out this wonderful therapy from mental health services?

I personally believe that art is a positive coping skill that all people could use, not just the mental patient.  Art is relaxing and gratifying.  Art takes you out of yourself and out of the moment giving you a much needed breather.  Art helps you refocus your mind and points you in positive directions.

Enjoy the video.  I know I did.  You might want to go to YouTube and see the comments posted after the video.
